Training in phase 2 is much more physically demanding than phase 1.

You must be able to do your Bagua exercises at “thighs parallel” (to the floor.)

You must build the stamina to deliver 6 hits per second with full body power for at least 3 min.

And your Internal Iron Body training begins in this phase.

You will build very powerful and explosive movement in this phase if you are willing to do the work.

Phase 2 is taught at your own pace.

Whenever you have developed your last phase 2 skill you can learn the next one.

If you are self disciplined and work hard you can progress through this phase in 6 – 8 months. Some people will spend 1 – 2 years in this phase. Most people find an easier way to spend their time.

Those who complete this phase earn the title Guru Muda (young instructor.)

Hsing-I Chuan (Xing Yi Quan) is an old and powerful style of Kung Fu. This art focuses on building a very powerful mind & body integration and is based on only 5 movements.

Though it requires a lot of hard work Hsing-I is a military art and so it is designed to be learned quickly.

Hsing-I is one of the “big 3″ internal arts and it is a primary Kun Tao style in Clear’s Silat. Becoming proficient in Hsing-I is the last step to earning a black sash in Clear’s Silat

The beginning. The basics.

This phase contains all the principles and techniques you will need for more advanced training.

There are 42 classes in Phase 1. Each class will give you tools you can use right away while also laying the groundwork for later Phases.

Take Notes!

When you see a class for the first time focus on the basics. Make sure you write down and take away the key components of each class. Don’t worry about the details yet.

When you see a class for the second time you can begin filling in more detail and you will now see how it relates to the other classes.

Once you have seen each class twice you will be ready for the Phase 1 Test. Phase 1 has been completed in as little as 5 months though for most students it takes 8 – 12.

Internal simply means “inside the body.” It’s referring to the development of an advanced understanding of the inner workings of the body and mind.

So in an internal martial art the focus of training is on body mechanics, body states, mental states, tension, relaxation, energy, breath, intention, vectors of force & power through the body, etc…

This is why we refer to our “no style” push hands as internal push hands. Because with the hands directly on the body you must use your body states, alignments and your mind to move your partner.

Practice your push hands!

Remember that in over 30 years of study and research this is the fastest way to build internal skill that Sifu Clear has encountered.
